Winkle H. Hong

Winkle H. Hong is an associate with the law firm of Emalfarb Swan & Bain, which acts as general counsel totrade associates.

Mr. Hong's practice focuses on a diverse range of construction law issues, including mechanics liens, bond claims, contract review and general litigation matters. Mr. Hong has experience in resolving construction disputes prior to litigation and has obtained settlements on behalf of his clients on multiple occasions. Some of these disputes include claims under the Federal Miller Act and public liens in Illinois.  Mr. Hong has also researched various product warranty related issues and payment bonds given on private commercial projects. 

Mr. Hong earned his J.D. from Albany Law School in Albany, New York, where he served as a managing editor for the Albany Law Environmental Outlook Journal, and his B.S. from the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan. While in law school, Mr. Hong spent two consecutive summer semesters at the University of Hong Kong School of Law, coupled with an internship at a city law firm.  Mr. Hong is also language proficient in Chinese (Cantonese).

Prior to joining Emalfarb Swan & Bain, Mr. Hong was in the process of completing his LL.M. in Business Law at Loyola University Chicago, of which he anticipates completion during the upcoming year.
